Atlas Difference Maker | Dr. Michael Hirsh

Dr. Michael Hirsh is the Atlas Distributing Difference Maker of the month.
As the City of Worcester’s Medical Director, Doctor Michael Hirsh has been instrumental in the battle against the coronavirus. Along with City Manager Ed Augustus and Worcester Mayor Joe Petty, Dr. Hirsh was part of the “Big Three,” that were the public face of the city’s efforts to inform and keep the populace safe. He is also the guiding force behind the area’s annual gun buyback program. He is a pediatric surgeon at UMass/Memorial.
ABOUT DOCTOR MICHAEL HIRSH
Michael P. Hirsh, MD, is a professor of surgery, chief of the Division of Pediatric Surgery and surgeon-in-chief for the UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center. In 2019, Dr. Hirsh was appointed assistant vice provost for wellness and health promotion at UMASS Medical School.
Dr. Hirsh also is the co-director of the Injury Free Coalition for Kids.
