Augustus on the Omicron Surge

Jan 5, 2022

Worcester City Manager Ed Augustus joins Talk of the Commonwealth with Hank Stolz every Tuesday at 7:35 to answer questions and discuss what is happening in New England’s second largest city.  This week the City Manager told us about the steps he is taking to battle the Omicron surge, including limiting capacity in municipal buildings to 25%, returning all city meetings to a virtual format, and requiring city employees to receive a booster shot.  He also spoke about the developers of the former Cove Music Hall scaling back the scope of their project to better fit the neighborhood aesthetic and the old Boys and Girls club at Lincoln Square being turned into senior housing.

City Manager Augustus was appointed as the city manager of Worcester, Massachusetts in January 2014. As City Manager, he has focused on continuing Worcester’s economic development renaissance, supporting education and youth and making city government inclusive for all residents of New England’s second-largest city.
