Augustus Sorry to See Williams Go as Chief Diversity Officer
Worcester City Manager Ed Augustus says he is sorry to see Stephanie Williams leave as Chief Diversity Officer. He feels she has been instrumental in moving the city forward. The City Manager also pushed back on those who feel change is not coming fast enough, saying the city is not moving slowly. Monday the NAACP, which questions why the city can’t hold onto its CDO, pulled out of Worcester’s Tercentennial Celebration in protest of things not changing fast enough in the city.
The CM said he hopes they will reconsider their decision and said the Tercentennial is non-political.
