Hirsh – “Stealth” Omicron Variant … Starting to Show Up

Feb 8, 2022

Dr. Michael Hirsh called into Talk of the Commonwealth with Hank Stolz in advance of the Worcester Board of Health Meeting Monday night

Dr. Hirsh and City Manager Ed Augustus will recommend lifting the city’s mask mandate on Friday February 18th. Asked why not lift the mandate today Dr. Hirsh noted that although the numbers are headed in the right direction the new “stealth” Omicron variant is just starting to show up in Massachusetts and it is something they will keep an eye on over the next week and a half.

Worcester’s municipal buildings, including the Senior Center, will reopen to in person visits next Monday.
