Wendy Wakeman and Undocumented Resident Drivers Licenses
If the residents of MA get the chance to vote on a recent law allowing undocumentated residents the chance to get a license it will be due to the efforts of Wendy Wakeman and others to drive the petition and gather the signatures necessary to put it before the voters. The legislature approved the bill over Governor Charlie Baker’s veto. Although it is very rare for a law to be repealed, Wakeman tells “Talk of the Commonwealth” the fact a hundred thousand signatures were gathered shows that people are uncomfortable with Massachusetts joining 16 other states in giving people here illegally a driver’s license.
