Petty To Run for 8th Term as Mayor of Worcester

Dec 22, 2022

WBDC-PODCAST

On his weekly segment on the Talk of the Commonwealth (Wednesday’s at 7 a.m.) Mayor Joe Petty let slip that as of now he does plan on running again.  Petty is already Worcester’s longest serving Mayor. A Petty run would be somewhat unexpected as many expected him to walk away after this term and he himself had seemed to indicate that during his run for State Senate. Petty lost in the Democratic Primary to eventual winner Robyn Kennedy. Petty said there’s still more he wishes to accomplish. Others rumored to be thinking about running for Mayor are City Councilors Khrystian King, Moe Bergman and Donna Colorio. Former Worcester School Superintendent Maureen Binienda is also said to be thinking about running.
