The First Worcester District includes Boylston, West Boylston, Northborough, Berlin, Bolton, and a large chunk of Worcester.  Recently the two candidates appeared on Talk of the Commonwealth with Hank Stolz. Here are the interviews with each candidate.
Robyn Kennedy

Robyn Kennedy has announced that she is running for State Senate. Kennedy stopped by the Radio Worcester studios to talk about her priorities and why she chose to run.  This is an open seat.  State Senator Harriette Chandler will not be seeking reelection.

Speaking on Talk of the Commonwealth with Hank Stolz, Kennedy said her priorities include housing, the importance of early learning and child care. Kennedy is the Executive Director of the YWCA of Central Mass. She does have political experience having worked in the office of then State Senator Ed Augustus and she worked as the deputy chief of staff for Lt. Gov. Tim Murray.   Kennedy is the only announced candidate.

Joseph Petty
Petty pointed to his accomplishments as Mayor and said climate change, affordable housing, economic development, education and public health are among his top priorities.  Petty pointed to his ability to work with others and the commonsense he feels he brings to problem solving.
