Worcester and the Community Preservation Act

This November Worcester voters will be asked to adopt the Community Preservation Act. If adopted, the 1.5% property tax surcharge will be used to fund community preservation projects. The money can go towards preservation of open space, historic structures, affordable housing and outdoor recreation. The Research Bureau has published a report that gives residents the facts on the CPA. Research Bureau Executive Director and CEO Paul Matthews appeared on the Talk of the Commonwealth to talk about the report’s conclusions.
