Worcester City Council Approves Drone for Worcester Police Department
Worcester City Council has finally approved a drone for the Worcester Police Department. Acting City Manager Eric Battista says the Police Department has met with the ACLU and accepted their suggestions when it comes to the official language in the Drone policy. He says Councilors are concerned about the technology and they want to make sure civil liberties are infringed upon. Battista also says, although the final decision is his, he will follow the recommendation of the City Council and the public and that quarterly reports on the use of the drone will be provided.
